The original HFRO brass name plateThis web site was set up on the occasion
of the 50th anniversary of the founding, on 1st April 1954, of the Hill Farming
Research Organisation, in the hope that it will enable ex-members of staff to keep
in touch and share memories
HFRO ceased to exist on 1st April 1987 when it was merged with the Macaulay Institute
for Soil Research to create the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute. Many staff remained at Bush
then moved to Pentlandfield until Spring 1992 when all remaining staff moved to Aberdeen.
Reunion 2012
The 2012 Reunion lunch has now been booked for the the
Inchture Hotel between Perth and Dundee on
Saturday 2nd June.

Reunion 2011
The 2011 Reunion lunch was held on Saturday 4th June at the Inchture Hotel.
Reunion 2010
The Reunion lunch on 5th June went off very well and was enjoyed by all 27 people who attended.
We were even (and unexpectedly) entertained by a pipe band.
